Steam on Linux “Unethical”? What? WAKE UP STALLMAN!

Richard Stallman, in his latest blog, states that “Steam on Linux is unethical”.  That we as GNU/linux users should not support or even mention that Steam is developing its games for Linux because they deny freedom to their users.  This comes from a man who if hired for a speaking engagement requires a long list of things like “tea with a little milk and sugar“, “non-diet pepsi (no Coca-cola please)” and other strange non-free requests. Steam on Ubuntu

Naturally, I am delighted with the news of Steam coming to Ubuntu. While naturally everyone is happy about getting their favorite games on Ubuntu, I think there is another subtle yet important gem in this announcement. Creating a AAA title such as Left 4 Dead is an expensive and time consuming process. This expense is not only in the conceptualization, design, and development of the title, but also the associated support, community, marketing, and distribution services.
