Had Motorola and Google realized the sacrilege they were committing by getting away from Linux when they did the OS of the &quot;Droids&quot; they probably would have done it sooner or not done it at all.  There is a great support community for Linux itself, regardless of what target CPU and GPU it is and chip set.

It&#039;s just easier to develop for Linux instead of a customized hodge-podge of OS and middleware.

Perhaps, Apple will drop the iOS name and call it what it really it&#039;s Ubuntu Linux with a custom GUI meant for portables with touch-screens built-in.  

Maybe, just maybe, Apple will start moving in the direction of straight Free BSD again or Linux, time will tell.  I am not completely sold on the idea of Darwin or any else Apple repackages as their own and sells it.</description>
